About Buchan Electrical
From near to far … and back again
Lachie received his RMIT certified electrical trade trading through the Australian Army, after which he was posted to several army combat and transport units, in locations including Wodonga, Darwin and East Timor.
After leaving the Army in 2003, Lachie and his wife Melanie returned to their hometown, Wangaratta. After a successful second renovation in Green Street (their first was in Moyhu), Lach, Mel and the kids moved out to a large block in Eldorado to build from scratch. They moved in late last year, just in time to save their newest baby from a tin-shed summer.
Lachie’s interests lie in architecture, building, and all the things that go with it in the rural lifestyle, including windmills, pumps and header tanks; plumbing and welding; with the accompanying collection of “junk”, all which he invariably puts to good use sooner or later.
With a particularly strong interest in woodwork, Lachie also has a keen eye for combining old school interior design and build quality with modern lighting and electrical features, and knows his trees, woods like the back of his hand. Not to mention the Australian Design Standards for building and electrical wiring.
From a professional viewpoint, Lachie’s strong interest in his electrical work and the things that go along with it mean that he pays attention to the details that make the difference to each job he does; making sure that the finished result looks as good as it works.

Be aware!
Here is a photo of a spa motor I saw a while back outside a bathroom. Always be aware and if you see an electrical problem, get it fixed straight away. In this case, the customer had safety switches, but the spa was hardwired, therefore not on a safety switch.
